Dent2Health – Bridging oral and systemic health

Dent2Health

The overarching objective of Dent2Health is to bridge the gap between oral and systemic health, thereby promoting a holistic approach to health. Dent2Health facilitates collaboration and knowledge sharing between academia, industry, and the public sector, supporting the development of new innovations that impact people’s health.

The Dent2Health initiative is managed by Medeon Science Park, working closely in partnership with key stakeholders, including Medicon Valley Alliance, Folktandvården Skåne, Centrum för primärvårdsforskning, Malmö University, Lund University, Technical University of Denmark (DTU), Steno Diabetes Center, Region Skåne, and others.

Dent2Health currently encompasses three key focus areas:

  • Development of screening tools based on oral biomarkers for non – communicable diseases, such as type 2 diabetes. Screening tools that can be utilized in dental clinics would enable screening of a large part of the population.
  • Strengthening collaboration between dental care and primary care to promote an interdisciplinary approach and holistic patient care.
  • Establishing a research and innovation hub focused on exploring the connections between oral and systemic health.

Development of the Dent2Health hub have partly been funded by Region Skåne.

The fourth Dent2Health conference will take place on the 8th of October 2025 in Malmö.

Medeon är en viktig life science-nod med sin centrala placering och specifika nätverk som erbjuder en av Öresundsregionens bästa tillväxtmiljöer för företagande och främjar utbytet mellan akademi, det offentliga och näringslivet.
